BIKEFEST
The ever-popular Bikefest has been given a make over with the help of our Principal Sponsor Trek UK and Bikefest event partners CycleSurgery and CycleActive.

“This is an enormously relevant and exciting event with which Trek is proud to be associated. There can be no greater challenge facing the world than climate change and to present ways in which we can all help, in an accessible form, should always be applauded and, if possible, supported.” Andrew Griffin, Trek UK.

Cyclists can visit Dr Bike with CycleSurgery where expert mechanics will be able to diagnose and treat your bike’s minor ailments. Visit early to avoid disappointment.

This year’s Bikefest will feature free on and off road cycle skills workshops from the UK’s leading experts in mountain bike training CycleActive. Workshops are suitable for cyclists of all abilities with bikes provided by Trek if you haven’t brought your own. Book on the day.

And, if they’ve got any energy left… visitors will be able to battle it out with Rollapaluza on a pair of vintage rollers connected to a huge dial over a simulated 500m distance at speeds in excess of 50mph!

There will also be a host of cycling freebies to pick up, lots of information and exhibitions plus a chance to try out new and unusual bikes and much more. Make sure you visit the Bikefest on Chester Road at the south end of the Broadwalk.

To help us to reduce the impact of the event, visitors are encouraged to walk or cycle to the Camden Green Fair. If you plan to cycle, you should register online at TREK to be automatically entered into a prize draw to win a Trek bike. A number of group bike rides will also be taking place, if you’d prefer to ride in company:

Rides will be leaving from Kentish Town City Farm, Freightliners City Farm and Hackney City Farm at noon on Sunday 1st June. The rides will take in some hidden green spots en route to the Camden Green Fair in Regent’s Park. Adequate cycle parking will be provided on Chester Road on the day of the Fair. Please contact the event coordinator for more information.

The Bikefest is run by steering group members and CCC Director, Stefano Casalotti:

“The Bikefest has been part of Camden Green Fair for seven years. We are really pleased to be able to promote cycling to so many people, and we’re delighted to be joined this year by Trek. Their support has helped to make sure this will be the best Bikefest yet. Cycling makes lots of sense in London where congestion is a big concern – and its quicker, cheaper, safer and greener than owning a car!”
